Welcome to Facto! Your trust is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have concerning your data.
By using the Facto application, you agree to the practices described in this document.
1. Information We Collect
To provide you with a rich and personalized experience, we collect the following types of data:
a) Data You Provide to Us Directly:
Account Information: When you create an account, either anonymously or through a third-party service like Google, we collect:
A unique User ID generated by our authentication system (Firebase Auth) to manage your progress.
Your display name (nickname), which you can choose and modify. If you do not set one, a default name will be assigned (e.g., "Anonymous User").
If you sign in with Google, we retrieve the email address and profile picture URL associated with that account. Your email address is never shared publicly.
b) Data We Collect Automatically When You Use the App:
In-App Activity: We record your progress to enable the app's features. This includes:
The stories you have completed.
Your score in Arcade mode.
Your experience points (XP).
Your daily connection streak.
Device Identifiers for Advertising: If you use the free version of the app, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) collects an Advertising Identifier (such as the IDFA on iOS or the Advertising ID on Android). This identifier is used to serve more relevant ads and measure their performance.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data for the following purposes:
To Provide and Improve App Features: To manage your account, save your progress, allow you to access your story library, and participate in leaderboards.
To Personalize Your Experience: To display your name and scores in leaderboards, allowing you to compete with other players.
To Provide Support and Communication: To respond to your requests if you contact us.
For Advertising: To display interstitial ads in the free version of the app. This advertising revenue funds the development and maintenance of Facto. You can remove these ads by purchasing the premium version.
To Ensure Security and Stability: To prevent abuse and ensure our services are running correctly.
3. How We Share Your Data
We never sell your personal data. We only share it with third parties in the following circumstances:
With Other Facto Users: Your display name and certain indicators of your in-app activity (scores, XP, streak) are visible to other users in the leaderboards. Your email address is never shared.
With Our Service Providers:
Firebase (by Google): We use Firebase for user authentication, hosting our database (Firestore), and basic analytics.
Google AdMob: We share Advertising Identifiers with Google to serve ads within the app.
For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with a legal process.
4. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over your personal data:
Access and Modification: You can change your display name at any time from the in-app settings.
Personalized Advertising: You can limit ad tracking by changing the settings on your mobile device (via "Privacy" on iOS or "Ads" on Android).
Notifications: You can enable or disable daily reminder notifications from the in-app settings.
Account Deletion: You can request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data using the "Delete Account" button in the settings. This action is irreversible.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your data very seriously. All data exchanged between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit (using HTTPS). We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
